*please note that while my name appears first as author of these stories,
I can not truly claim to have put in the most work on any of them. It is simply out of vanity since I am the one who
typed up the hand written chicken scratch.
The Fiendish Plot of Dr Foo Man Bunny This is the first story that Ed and I created. It was written, poorly, and in
an odd fashion. It started with him writing the part that became Chapter 1 one night. The following night I wrote
Chapter 2, and we alternated writing each chapter without consulting each other. Then once we were done we decided to
actually edit it a little and composed the last chapter together.
This was also the birth of Ed's brainchild 'RANDYMAN' - defender
of Good and all who use calculators. Randy was our version of Alfred E. Newman. If you don't know who he
is go here. Randy bore our abuse well, and is a good guy
This story was started because we wanted to abuse a few more employees,
especially Dan. Dan was on the shit list at the time this story was created and so he had to die in the beginning.
But that wasn't enough, so we kept abusing his body throughout the story. Dan was a trumpet player who graduated from
Julliard's School for Music and yet was working at a movie theater - go figure.
We also introduce Stephanie, whom I had dubbed as Tracks.
The term comes from the Monty Python film - The Holy Grail. There is a scene where a young man is about to be forced to marry a girl that he does not love.
His father is trying to convince him that she is the perfect woman. In his appeal to his son he comments "... and she's
got huge....(pause) .. tracks of land!" Picture that when he is saying the word 'huge' that he is cupping his hands
in front of him as if holding up his own breasts (if he had any of course). If you haven't seen The Holy Grail, then
I pity you, and beseech you to do so.
Well for this one the title pretty much sums it all up. We decided to do
a rip-off of both Star Wars and Spaceballs. What better way to write a story than rip off a rip-off. For those
of you who don't know, Denny's is supposed to be a 24 hour restaurant, but should be classified more as a diner.
With this story we actually took some time to think about what we were doing, even though
it doesn't look like it. It was to be the first in a three part series. Unfortunately life doesn't go as planned
and the third story was never written. Unlike the other stories we didn't start this one out with a plan of vengeance
in mind. We simply wanted to write a story that abused everyone. Our basic premise was that Stephanie's character
was a doctor on a starship akin to the Enterprise and that she was hooked on living her life on the holodeck(a three dimensional,
interactive, programmable, holographic, fantasy generator) and avoiding the real world.
It was at the end of this story that you find out that Stephanie's character is actually
on a starship and that the previous story was a hologram. The third story was to follow Stephanie and the characters
onboard the starship that happened to also be characters in the hologram story, similar to the idea of the Wizard of Oz.
This was to be the last story. I was not working at Shadowood at the time
and Ed was planning on leaving. I was asked by Javier and James to help them out on the story since I knew the staff
and they had liked what we had done on the previous stories. This was done without Ed as it was aimed at him.
The only person that is really hated in this story is Morrie
Zryl. ... and I do mean hated. At this point Morrie had been brought in from outside of the company and had taken
over the position of manager of the theater since Laura had left. I hated him so bad I went to the owner of the company
and tried to get him fired, but when that didn't work I left.
The pictures that are available on this site were drawn by Javier Archila
for this story.
